ABOUT FAMILY SHARING

  1. What is Family Sharing?

Our Family feature allows one HomeCourt Premium subscriber (the Organizer) to share their HomeCourt Premium subscription with three other players (family members, friends, etc.) Players in a Family can get all the benefits of HomeCourt Premium and also easily share devices with their family members or friends.

  2. What is the difference between a “Team” and a “Family”?

    • A Team is a collective group of accounts that joined up together. There is no limit to the number of accounts that can join a team. A Team will also gain access to a team leaderboard for contests and challenges. Each account in the team will have to sign up for HomeCourt Premium themselves if they would like to use HomeCourt Premium on their own individual devices.

    • A Family consists of one original account holder, or Organizer, who can create up to three additional Profiles. Those additional Profiles will gain HomeCourt Premium access into any device where the Organizer signs in. Once the Profiles are transferred to full Accounts, they can sign in on their own devices and still get access to HomeCourt Premium via the Organizer’s subscription.

  3. How do I share a subscription with another user?

    • You can use our Family sharing feature! Go to Settings and then tap on the Add Player “+” icon to add new Profiles to your account. You can add a maximum of 3 Profiles (in addition to your own) to share on your account.

  4. How do I create a Profile for a family member or a friend?

    • Go to Settings and then tap on the Add Player “+” icon to add new Profiles to your account. You can add a maximum of 3 Profiles (in addition to your own) to share on your account.

  5. How do I create separate Profiles for myself?

    • Go to Settings and then tap on the Add Player “+” icon to add new Profiles to your account. You can add a maximum of 3 Profiles (in addition to your own) to share on your account.

  6. After tapping on the Add Player “+” icon, what is the difference between “Create a new Profile” and “Add an existing HomeCourt user?”

    • Creating a new Profile means the new user has never created their own HomeCourt Premium account before.

    • Add an existing HomeCourt user means that that user has pre-existing data saved and already has a HomeCourt account created.

  7. How do I switch Profiles on my device?

    • You can easily record for another player by switching to his Profile. Switch Profiles by tapping on Settings, tapping on someone’s name, and then tapping on Switch to Profile.

  8. How do I sign out a user from my device?

    • To sign out a user, go to settings, and then scroll to the bottom to tap on sign out once you have selected the user you would like to sign out.

  9. Do all Family members share the same HomeCourt Premium subscription? Who is responsible for paying?

    • The main account holder (or “Organizer”) is responsible for the HomeCourt Premium Subscription, while the other accounts will not be responsible for paying.

  10. How many members can I have in my Family?

    • You can have up to four total, including the Organizer.

  11. Can a Family member create their own Family?

    • They would need to leave your current Family first. To leave the Family, go to Settings, and then “Leave Family.”

    • Afterward, assuming they have their own HomeCourt Premium subscription, they can create their own Family by tapping on Settings, and tap on the Add Player “+” icon to add players to their Family.

  12. Can I have multiple Families at the same time?

    • No, you may only belong to one Family at a time.

  13. What’s the difference between a “Profile” and an “Account”?

    • A Profile is a part of a Family. A Profile is intended to be used by the Organizer to record workouts by others who do not have their own HomeCourt accounts. You can only use a Profile by signing in on a device logged in under the Organizer’s account, via the original account holder’s login.

    • A member account has its own individual login that is separate from the Organizer’s account. You can add an existing account to a Family. Alternatively, when you  transfer a Profile to another user, that user will need to create a new account to receive the Profile and continue participating in your squad. A transferred account will be able to leave the Family and create their own Family if they choose.

  14. How do I “graduate” a Family Profile to its own HomeCourt Account?

To transfer a Profile to a HomeCourt Account, tap on Settings, tap “Transfer Profile”, then tap on “Send Profile Link” to send them a link that will allow them to create a new HomeCourt account and take ownership of the Profile and its data.

  15. Can I also create a team with my Family members?

You can create a Team with your Family members if you would like to have a team leaderboard to compete in different Challenges, Contests, and statistical categories. Just invite each member individually.

  16. Will my Family members automatically see my workouts?

Yes, when you join a Family you will automatically follow all the other members of the Family which means you will get to see each others workouts. You can always control the privacy of your workouts or unfollow Family members.

  17. How do I tag different “Profiles” to my workouts if I am playing with my Family members?

They will be in the list of players to tag post workout.

  18. Can I share the cost of the HomeCourt subscription with a Family member?

Not via Homecourt :) The Organizer is responsible for paying for the HomeCourt Pro subscription.

  19. How do I delete or remove a player from my Family?

Switch to their profile by going to “Settings,” tapping on their account name, “Switch to Profile.” Then tap on “Account” and then “Delete Profile.”

  20. I don't subscribe to HomeCourt Premium, can I still use Family or Profiles?

Yes, if a HomeCourt Premium subscriber invites your existing account to join their Family, you do not need your own HomeCourt Premium subscription.

  21. What if I have 5 or 6 members in my Family? Can I pay for a bigger Family?

Not at this time. Families are limited to 4 users total, including the original account holder.

  22. Can I sign in to a Family member’s account on my device? How does that work?

If a member of your Family has their own HomeCourt account, you can let them sign in to share your device. Just go to settings, and then tap on the user and then tap “Switch to Profile.”

  23. If I have a team set up today with only 4 players, can I move them over to a Family?

Yes, you can invite existing team members to your Family to share your subscription with them. Just go to Settings, tap on the Add Player “+” icon, and tap on “Add an existing HomeCourt user”. You can find that user by searching for them, or you can send them an invitation link by tapping the “Invite to Family” button.

  24. Are there any features of HomeCourt Premium that are not available to Family members?

No. All HomeCourt Premium features are available to Family members.

  25. What happens to my Family if I cancel my HomeCourt Premium subscription?

If the Family Organizer cancels their HomeCourt subscription, the Family members will be converted to a free account. They will no longer share the subscription of the Organizer, but will retain any pre-existing Premium subscriptions they might have. The Family members will not lose any of their data, and can continue to use HomeCourt. If any Profiles have not been transferred to full HomeCourt accounts by the time of cancelation, the Organizer will still have a chance to transfer them later, or resubscribe to reactivate the Family.
